Many people confuse the terms college and university. Although they are closely related, they are in fact very different. I thought it might be a good time to talk about the difference between the two.
Simply put, a college is an institution that provides specialized training and teaching for a particular career path.
A a university is an institution that provides specialized training and teaching that results in a bachelor’s degree or higher. Colleges exist within university systems OR they can exist independently. All of the credentials listed in the chart below are considered part of “going to college.”
